Renewable Heat Premium Payment
To encourage the adoption of renewable heat alternatives to replace expensive to run oil boilers, the Government has introduced the Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP) which is available until 31st March 2012 and will be followed by the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) in October 2012. Customers benefiting from the RHPP will also benefit from the RHI in the form of regular payments for up to 20 years based on the amount of renewable heat being generated. The RHPP is administered by the Energy Saving Trust and full details, including eligibility criteria are available here: http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/Generate-your-own-energy/Financial-incentives/Renewable-Heat-Premium-Payment
Although the Government is still to finalise the RHI domestic, the RH Premium Payment and manufacturer offers do provide a good incentive and we can be reasonably confident of further financial benefit once the RHI domestic starts in October next year. The cut off for the Premium Payment is only just over 4 months away. A good reason to act now!
