Ecodan Frequently Asked Questions
In these short videos you will find answers to your questions about the Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump and how it operates.
Will my Ecodan work when it is cold outside?
Although it's hard to grasp at first, your Ecodan air source heat pump will produce heat when the temperature outside drops well below freezing.
What is defrost?
The high humidity in the UK means that when the outdoor temperature is hovering around 0°C the heat pump needs to send heat to the evaporator to prevent it from defrosting. This doesn't take long and you may see a plum of steam during the process.
What about legionella protection?
Find out how your Ecodan heat pump has built-in legionella protection.
How hot should my radiators be?
Heat pump systems are low temperature and work most efficiently when the flow temperature to radiators is as low as possible while still maintaining the set room temperature. This means that radiators may not be hot to the touch but the key thing is the air temperature of the room.
What should my Ecodan sound like?
Ecodan air source heat pumps are among the quietest on the market and have been recognised by the Noise Abatement Society for industry leading low noise levels.
How do I maintain my Ecodan?
Mitsubishi recommend that you have your Ecodan serviced on an annual basis to ensure efficient running and to provide you with peace of mind. Ecoliving is an approved Mitsubishi Ecodan service partner and we offer annual servicing to individual homes or multi-dwelling housing.
