Heat Pump and Solar Thermal for Training Centre
The Waste Disposal Training Centre in Rouken Glen Park in the south side of Glasgow opened in August 2003 with the purpose of delivering Skills Training to the unemployed and school children focussing on Environmental Improvements, Recycling, Construction, Rural Skills, Biology and Horticulture.
The Training Centre heating and hot water is delivered thanks to an Ecoliving designed system that combines Solar Thermal and Air Source Heat Pump technologies. The solar hot water and heat pump systems are docked together, where the end result allows the hot water to be heated by the sun and when there is insufficient solar gain but still a demand for hot water the heat pump starts and the head pump supplies all the heating requirements.
