Hargassner Log Boilers
Hargassner's log boiler options include one which can be fuelled using 1/2 metre logs and another which is capable of using metre logs, boiler units available from 20-60kW capacity. Logs are considered a renewable resource so long as they have been sourced from a sustainable forest - meaning the logs which are cut are replaced by new plantations. Quite often, the logs used for wood-burning in the UK are sourced from timber forests planted in the 19th century which contain timber which is of a lower grade to that used in building thus suitable only for wood fuel.
The main consideration to take into account when considering a log boiler is the manual attention required when it comes to refuelling, as there are no automated options available. If you have a readily available wood stock however, this could be the ideal option.
